Wolf Priest Done!

Ok so I'm a so-so painter. I'm honestly not much a fan of highlights and such, I prefer to paint in single colors and hey, the light I'm in will highlight it. Sounds like a cop out, I know, but I prefer the "feel" of the model rather than the full on artistry (that quite frankly is ably handled by many talented people out there) of all the amazing painting techniques.

My main pride here is actually completing a model! And I think it will have the effect of storming across the battlefield when I put him down on the table!

Anyway here you go.

Cabin Fever '12

Last weekend I played in the Noobhammer Beginners GT. No, I'm not a beginner (though I play like one) but since it had my name on it...

Anyway I brought the Wolves out to play and came away with a 2-1 record. I made some idiot mistakes in game two versus Salamanders, my lack of movement cost me the game. Nate ended up winning, however he handed it down to

What I learned:
Wolf Standard = mandatory
Drop Pod Assault = awesome early threat, takes insane amount of fire

. But something I need to change is what comes out of the drop pod. I ran with Arjac, a wolf priest and 7 Grey Hunters w/ melta, intending to pop tanks then eat the insides. It caused so much fear though that the GHs were annihilated right away, and the Priest/Arjac were shot, at least 100 million times. Contrary to my normal dice luck, both the Wolf Priest and Arjac survived every game! I'm thinking in the future of running all Wolf Guard in there. Wolf Priest = only has one serious option, running with Blood Claws. Which is shitty, because I love the character and i'm not crazy about Blood Claws. Only since I like the idea of the veterans running and not a bunch of retards trying to be badass. Paint my shit = Duh. But seriously, games would move a lot smoother in the set up/deployment and afterward packing it back up. You see, I'm terribly vexed at not keeping things in order and organized. Thinking of my models not being in the right place gives me serious stress...yes I'm seeing a doctor about it lol. This weekend is my wifes birthday so I may not get much done. I do need to sort out my 1000pt list of Warriors of Chaos for the next campaign game. Also I need to finish my TDA Wolf Priest for Bolter and Chainswords Winter Advance 2012, which is due the end of February.

WTF!? A Picture??

So here is a WIP of my Terminator Wolf Priest. I'm participating in Bolter and Chainsword's Winter Vow, basically for the Space Wolves section to complete a vow of modeling and painting something for your army. I chose to model a wolf skull above his head rather than on it, because my fluff will be that his appearance alone is enough to scare the shit out of everyone. Check this shit out B!
